The framework agreement promotes scientific, technical and educational collaboration in this field. The signing ceremony was held in the Rector’s Offices on 4 May
The agreement was signed by Josep Anton Ferré, Rector of the Universidad Rovira i Virgili (URV), Ahmed Ghallab Mohammed Ibrahim, Rector of Aswan University in Egypt, and the Vice-Rector for Postgraduate Studies, Aymar Mahmoud, at an event attended by other academic authorities from both institutions.
The two universities – both committed to higher education, research and the promotion of culture – will promote educational and exchange programmes as well as joint research projects and the creation, organisation and coordination of academic activities.
The URV and Aswan University have already been in contact with each other for some time regarding research collaborations with researchers from the URV’s School of Engineering in the field of computer engineering. The new framework agreement is intended to extend this collaboration and to facilitate other specific agreements. One of these collaborations could be the joint management of doctoral theses so that doctoral students from Aswan University can obtain a double doctoral degree from both their home university and the URV.
