The URV and the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University begin working together

This American university visited the URV with a view to signing a mobility agreement. The object of FAMU’s visit was to learn more about the URV and the region and to discuss further collaboration between both institutions

FAMU’s Assistant Vice President for International Education and Development, Dr William Hyndman III, visited the URV on 6 May. He had a meeting at the International Center with the head of International Relations, Ms Marina Casals, and other members of this service, as well as with the deputy director of the School of Chemical Engineering (ETSEQ), Dr Allan Mackie. The aim of the visit was to get a closer view of the URV and to discuss possible avenues of collaboration.

FAMU has many study areas in common with the URV and is seeking to increase international mobility among its students, many of whom are the first members of their families to go to university. FAMU is also keen to promote teaching staff mobility to provide a boost for joint research and projects.
