The URV and the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt consolidate the Wiener project

The Catalan and the Austrian universities are encouraging students to take part in online language tandems to improve their command of Spanish, English and German. Last academic year, 15 URV students took part in the project

Last week the director of the Language Competence Centre of the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt, Claudia Appl, and the head of the Centre’s Spanish Department, Pilar Maldonado de Lendl, came to visit the URV.

The Wiener project was started by the URV’s Language Service and the Language Competence Centre in September 2015. The project encourages students from both universities to take part in language tandems. The students communicate via Skype in Spanish, English and German. Last academic year, 15 URV students took part in the project. If you wish to join in, please send an email to the Espai d’Aprenentage de Llengües at the following address: crai.espaillengues@urv.cat.

During their stay, Claudia Appl and Pilar Maldonado de Lendl attended several meetings to discuss the project and other matters with Language Service staff. They also visited other parts of the URV in which their university has an interest (Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, and the International Center) and were given a guided tour of the city of Tarragona.
