On 23 October, the Yunnan University of Finance and Economics visited the URV in order to establish teaching and research activities between the two institutions, after signing a collaboration agreement in July during the “International Symposium on Innovative Management of Cultural Tourism Destinations” in Kunming, China.

Two measures were proposed for the field of education: on one hand, students from Yunnan will be able to study at the URV during 2018 under the Study Abroad programme, the main topic of which will be innovation in cultural tourism. On the other hand, a mobility agreement will be signed to enable graduate students from Yunnan to study for their final year at the URV on the Master’s Degree in Management of Tourism Destinations and thus obtain a joint degree.

In the field of research, the Faculty of Tourism and Geography of the URV and the Yunnan University of Finance and Economics are working on researcher mobility and collaboration in research projects, in particular next year, which is the European Union – China Tourism Year.

The members of the visiting delegation were Wang Xiaoyong, director of the YUFE’s School Council, Ban Xianhi, director of the Tourism Studies Centre, professor Zhu Tao and the consultant Corrado Politi. They were received by Mar Gutiérrez-Colón, the vice-rector for Internationalisation, Paolo Russo , professor at the Faculty of Tourism and Geography, Min Zhang, faculty researcher, and Salvador Anton, director of the Tourism and Leisure Science and Technology Park (PCT). The meeting took place in the Rector’s Offices. Afterwards, the Chinese delegation had a working meeting at the PCT in Vila-seca to learn about the projects and applied research lines that are being developed there.
