Statement by the rector

The Senate of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili clearly announced that it was in favour of Catalonia being able to decide on its own future in a referendum.

Today we reiterate our commitment to democracy and freedom of speech, and we condemn the coercion to which Catalans and Catalan institutions have been subjected.

Political problems require political solutions and democratic coexistence is based on the right to vote.
