A total of 117 people, including students, lecturers and administrative staff, took part this Saturday in the URV\u2019s 6th Canoe Trip on the Ebro River. After a three-year break due to the pandemic, more participants than in 2019 signed up to take part in the activity. As usual, there were a considerable number of international students, who began to get to know the local area through a fun and sustainable activity.<\/p>\n

The canoe trip, which was initially supposed to run from Miravet to Benifallet, was finally held in the vicinity of the Benifallet islands because of the bad weather forecast. For many of the participants this was their first time, and it enabled the international students to discover one of the wildest sections of the Ebro River.<\/p>\n

Sustainability is one of the cornerstones of this activity, which also promotes physical activity and bonds between the university community. The participants did not travel in private vehicles but arrived in Benifallet by coach, leaving from Reus, Tarragona and Tortosa.<\/p>\n

Of all the competitions, sports and leisure activities organised by URV Sports and the Terres de l’Ebre campus, the canoe trip is the first of the academic year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
