More students than ever before are filling the campuses of the Universitat Rovira <\/span>i<\/span> Virgili this academic year 2023-24. There are 12,664 <\/span>undergraduates<\/span> (2.6% more than a year ago) and 2,171 master’s degree students (1.8% more) <\/span>at the URV in an academic year which has exceeded the enrolment figures of all previous years since the <\/span>Universit<\/span>y<\/span> was <\/span>founded<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, 3,437 students have started their bachelor’s degrees<\/a><\/span>, which is 2<\/span>% more than in the academic year 2022-23, with an average age of <\/span>20<\/span>.<\/span>5<\/span> years. Eight out of ten of them <\/span>gained access to the <\/span>Universit<\/span>y<\/span> through the <\/span>u<\/span>niversity <\/span>e<\/span>ntrance <\/span>e<\/span>xamination (65<\/span>%) or higher <\/span>training cycles<\/span> (15<\/span>%).<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

More than half of the URV’s <\/span>undergraduates<\/span> (63<\/span>%) are from the Tarragona area, while 17<\/span>% <\/span>are<\/span> from the rest of Catalonia<\/span>,<\/span> almost 12<\/span>% <\/span>from the rest of Spain and 8 % are internation<\/span>a<\/span>l.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new students take over from <\/span>the 1,986<\/span> who graduated in the <\/span>academic year<\/span> 2022-23<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In terms of master’s degrees<\/a>, there are 2,171 students at the URV, 1.8<\/span>% more than last year, when the <\/span>URV had more than<\/span> 2,000 master’s students <\/span>for the first time. Three out of ten are international<\/span> students<\/span> from America (43<\/span>%), Europe (25<\/span>%), Asia (20<\/span>%) and Africa (11<\/span>%).<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Students are constantly enrolli<\/span>ng<\/span> in university education<\/span>, so the data <\/span>is from<\/span> 17 October 2023 <\/span>so that it is<\/span> comparable with previous years.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
