In June, the interuniversity Master\u2019s Degree in Health Data Science, led by URV, held its summer school where 55 students of 16 different nationalities worked intensively to seek an innovative solution to a health challenge based on data science.<\/p>\n

The European Scientific Institute (ESI-Archamps) hosted the summer school in Archamps, France, from 5-11 June. With more than 30 professionals from 20 organisations (pharmaceutical companies, entrepreneurs, venture capital firms, technology companies, university lecturers, doctors, and associations of patients) a total of 13 lecturers, 14 mentors and 5 jury members for the final pitch have provided the students with support to solve this year’s challenge, which had to do with the prevention and early detection of cardiovascular events in diabetic patients.<\/p>\n

The Master\u2019s Degree in Health Data Science is taught online, so the summer school serves as a meeting point for the students, teaching staff, scientists, and experts.\u00a0It is part of the entrepreneurship and innovation module of the programme, which has been reinforced with funding from EIT Health, the knowledge and innovation community of European Institute of Innovation and Technology, and the involvement of the Universit\u00e9 Grenoble Alpes, responsible for the entrepreneurship module.\u201d<\/p>\n
