Building your own personal brand, applying biotechnology to food, experimenting with chemistry, programming games and learning to design and print in 3D. These are just some of the topics that, since the beginning of July, more than a hundred secondary school and baccalaureate students have been learning about thanks to a new edition of EstiURV, a URV programme that provides scientific and technical training in different disciplines in order to broaden students\u2019 knowledge and foster their interest in science and a scientific career.<\/p>\n

\u00c0lex Llaurad\u00f3, from the Cardenal Vidal i Barraquer School in Cambrils, is taking part in EstiURV for the first time. He highlighted above all the opportunity to conduct experiments in a laboratory. “I’m delighted with this activity because at school we never get the chance to work in a laboratory, whereas here I can do practical sessions and get to know the instruments that are used,” he explained.<\/p>\n

A total of eight workshops have been organised; five were held last week: “Building my personal brand; The interconnected world: everyday technologies”; “Python, let’s play”, “Mathematics and Physics, pillars of knowledge and modern technologies” and “Biotechnology at your desk”. This week there are three more of them: “Introduction to computer-assisted mechanical engineering”, “Experiment with chemistry” and “What are we eating?<\/p>\n

The aim of EstiURV’s activities is to offer secondary school students scientific training in the different disciplines taught at the URV, with the aim of broadening their knowledge and increasing their interest in science.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
