{"id":151515,"date":"2026-04-15T13:20:39","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T11:20:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diaridigital.urv.cat\/?p=151515"},"modified":"2026-04-15T13:22:46","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T11:22:46","slug":"the-urv-commemorates-40-years-since-spains-accession-to-the-european-union","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diaridigital.urv.cat\/en\/the-urv-commemorates-40-years-since-spains-accession-to-the-european-union\/","title":{"rendered":"The URV commemorates 40 years since Spain\u2019s accession to the European Union"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of Spain\u2019s accession to the European Union, the <a href=\"https:\/\/urv.libguides.com\/CDE\">Centre de Documentaci\u00f3 Europea<\/a> of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili has organised a series of events.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition \u201cBuilding Europe Together: 40 Years of Spain in the European Union\u201d, installed in the foyer of the Faculty of Economics and Business, aims to provide a concise yet rigorous overview of how the country as a whole has evolved over the past four decades, with particular emphasis on Europe\u2019s contributions to improving Spain, as well as on the many benefits that Spain\u2019s accession has brought to the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>A smaller version of this exhibition has also been installed in all the URV CRAI libraries.<\/p>\n<p>The conference \u201c40 Years of Spain in the European Union: Leadership and Challenges\u201d, delivered by Claudi P\u00e9rez Pallej\u00e0, is also worth highlighting.<\/p>\n<p>It will take place on Friday, 17 April, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. in the Main Hall of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.<\/p>\n<p>The event is organised with the collaboration of the \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eco-sos.urv.cat\/ca\/\">Centre de Recerca en Economia i Sostenibilitat<\/a> and the URV <a href=\"https:\/\/gandalf.fee.urv.cat\/departaments\/economia\/web\/catala\/departament\/apartats\/presentacio\">Departament d\u2019Economia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Claudi P\u00e9rez is a journalist specialising in international economic affairs at <em>El Pa\u00eds<\/em>, a newspaper where he served as deputy director and head of national politics, as well as correspondent in Brussels.
