Under the guidelines of Josep Manel Ricart, the Vice-rector for Scientific Policy and Research, and Miquel \u00c0ngel Bov\u00e9, the Vice-rector for Transfer and Innovation, the Unit for the Promotion of Research, Innovation and Regional Development supports and promotes research in different areas of expertise. The team is coordinated by Ignasi Salvad\u00f3 and its members are Garc\u00eda, Mar Baiget, Daniel Ferrer, Neus Franco, Cristina Andrade, Aleyois Haro, Bogdan Nae, Ana Estell\u00e9s and Paloma Pont\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

The Unit\u2019s daily work is related to seeking funding opportunities, promoting funds among researchers, writing project proposals and locating potential partners for future projects. Each team member deals with a specific area of expertise or research profile, although team work and the exchange of ideas and resources is very common.<\/p>\n

Regarding international public funds, the Unit focuses mainly on the Horizon 2020<\/a> programme, but we also offer advice on Erasmus+<\/a>, Interreg-SUDOE<\/a> and ERDF<\/a> funds. Our H2020 experts can support you in the preparation of proposals for funding offered in the ambits of the European Research Council (ERC)<\/a>, Marie-Sklodowska Curie Actions (MSCA)<\/a>, Information and Communication Technologies, Health, Food and Bioeconomy, Socioeconomic Sciences and Humanities (including Industrial Leadership<\/a> and Societal Challenges<\/a> calls).<\/p>\n

At national, regional and local level, the Unit\u2019s emphasis is on providing support to attract talent (ICREA<\/a>, Mart\u00ed Franqu\u00e9s PostDoc and COFUND<\/a>), to promote international research opportunities (Europa Investigaci\u00f3n<\/em><\/a>, EXIT<\/a>), and to promote technology and knowledge transfer (Torres Quevedo, Emplea<\/a>). It is important to mention that the Unit plays an important role in defining the URV\u2019s Strategic Plan for Research and Innovation<\/a> of the URV.<\/p>\n

One of the Unit\u2019s most visible actions is the organization of events<\/a> for promoting research innovation and cooperation, such as the Infoday<\/a> on how to prepare an application for a Marie-Sklodowska Curie Action.<\/p>\n

The majority of the Unit\u2019s activities are done under the umbrella of the Office of Tarragona Region of Knowledge<\/a>, in collaboration with Diputaci\u00f3 de Tarragona<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is important to remark that the Unit is mainly externally funded. Therefore, the support offered by the Unit is subject to changes. Researchers, companies, and innovators are welcome to visit us and participate in our activities. We are always looking for ways to offer you the best-quality support.<\/p>\n

Research at the URV and our related research centres is mainly funded externally and our researchers compete for national and international funding that in 2015 alone was worth \u20ac29 million.
