Moscow (Russia) has hosted the Gaidar Forum, the most important meeting of scientists and politicians in the country each year and which has been attended by representatives of four Spanish universities, including the URV. The forum provided the backdrop to the creation of an alliance between the four Spanish universities (the URV, the University of Valencia, the Carlos III University and the University of Oviedo) and four Russian universities (the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration\u00a0(RANEPA),\u00a0the National University of Science and Technology MISIS, the Russian Foreign Trade Academy and Tomsk State University).<\/p>\n

In 2019 the rectors of the eight universities will sign a collaboration agreement to work on offering joint degree courses, for example double bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees, summer courses and lifelong learning courses through the Study Abroad programme. The agreement will also enable the exchange of teaching staff and students between the universities and the creation of joint projects for knowledge transfer and the development of skills to apply for European Union funding calls.<\/p>\n

During the meeting between the vice-rectors at the Gaidar Forum, the URV\u2019s Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, John Style, presented the URV\u2019s most notable areas of activity and its internationalisation policy. According to Dr Style, the agreement with the Russian universities opens up opportunities in this part of the world to the URV and will increase internationalisation at home through the arrival of Russian students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
