{"id":71072,"date":"2020-03-31T18:08:35","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T16:08:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/diaridigital.urv.cat\/?p=71072"},"modified":"2020-04-15T15:50:47","modified_gmt":"2020-04-15T13:50:47","slug":"urv-information-on-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diaridigital.urv.cat\/en\/urv-information-on-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"URV information on COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Given the current situation caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) announces the following information:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0The Rector has published, on 15 March, <a href=\"http:\/\/diaridigital.urv.cat\/en\/resolution-rector-15-march-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a\u00a0resolution<\/a> to provide guidelines to be followed by the URV community in order to collaborate in reducing the spread of COVID-19.\u00a0All URV buildings and facilities are closed except for the essential basic services and mechanisms to ensure non-presential working are established.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The University has ceased classroom activity until further notice (May at least). Teaching and evaluative activities will continue at a distance, as far as possible.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; When the online assessment isn&#8217;t possible, the academic calendar can be extended until 16 July,\u00a0assuming that there would be a period for presence-based assessment between mid-June and mid-July, if circumstances allow.\u00a0Students who cannot follow the continuous assessment will be able to take a single test on the first and second call.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The URV has created a committee to monitor and take measures against COVID-19. This committee will provide daily updates via the URV website, social media and other channels of communication to ensure that the university community is informed about the evolution of the situation and is aware of any new developments.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; This committee has established an <a href=\"http:\/\/diaridigital.urv.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/PROTOCOL_COVID19_20200311.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">internal protocol in response to the public health alert<\/a> (in Catalan, forthcoming in English). The protocol establishes the measures that are to be applied to the URV\u2019s campuses and to the University\u2019s academic activities. It is intended to provide guidance and advice for the URV Community. This protocol is under constant review.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The arrival of students and staff from other institutions is non-feasible, as the buildings are closed and activity is expected to continue at home.\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">For students and staff intending to travel for an Erasmus exchange, the URV recommends postponing or cancelling visits to countries and regions of risk.
