The event forms part of the Welcome Days, the URV's programme for welcoming international students at the start of the academic year and introducing them to Catalan culture

The Cultural Day was the second Welcome Day event and was organized by Universitat Rovira i Virgili to welcome incoming mobility students at the beginning of the academic year. It focused on introducing Catalan culture to newcomers and was held at the Catalunya campus with around seventy students participating.

The event, conducted in English, began with the “Language Quiz,” a 30-minute workshop providing sociolinguistic insights about the Catalan language to emphasize its significance as the official and preferred language for use at the university.

Following this, students participated in an interpersonal activity called “Cultural Speed Dating,” and concluded the day with the opportunity to participate in traditional Catalan dances. The activities were organized by URV’s Language and Publications Service and the International Center.

This event marks the start of the language welcome programme designed for students coming from outside the Catalan-speaking region.
