The declaration has been signed by all the institutions that have won the European Union Award for Gender Equality Champions

The Universitat Rovira i Virgili has signed the Joint Declaration on Gender Equality in Higher Education, Research and Innovation, an initiative spearheaded by the eleven research institutions (including the URV) that have received the European Union Award for Gender Equality Champions.

The joint declaration reaffirms the signatories’ commitment to gender equality and aims to strengthen gender equality at an institutional level, ensure the sustainability of inclusive policies at a European level, and promote gender equality in international cooperation.

The declaration states that ” attracting more women to academic careers and ensuring the highest standards of research quality are essential to enhancing science’s role in addressing societal and economic challenges. To achieve this, it is vital that we continue to mainstream gender equality in European and international cooperation.” The full text of the declaration can be read here.
