The Centre for Hispanic Studies and the Binhai School of Foreign Affairs are now working even more closely together

On 23 November, the URV’s Centre for Hispanic Studies received the visit of a delegation from the Binhai School of Foreign Affairs (Tianjin Foreign Studies University). The delegation was headed by the rector Shan Tirui, and made up of the dean of the Faculty of Spanish, Zhang Bohua, the head of the Rector’s Office, Liu Nan and the assistant lecturer from the Faculty of German, Hu Yu.
At the URV, the delegation was welcomed by the rector, María José Figueras and the vice-rector for Internationalization, John Style. The rector gave them some information about the URV, told them about her last trip to China and accepted an invitation to visit their university some time in the future.
The members of the delegation also visited Campus Catalunya, where they met the director of the Centre for Hispanic Studies (CEH), Antoni Nomdedeu; the academic coordinator of the CEH, Sandra Iglesia; the Director of the Department of Private, Procedural and Financial Law, Àngel Urquizu, and the CEH’s Chines teacher and president of the Chinese Students’ Association in Tarragona, Zhu Rongrong. They were shown round the Campus and they had a meeting to discuss how the two universities were currently working together.
In 2014, a delegation from Binhai visited the URV and the CEH, and in 2016 it was the CEH who visited Tianjin and Binhai.
