The exhibition “Veus Silenciades” tours the CRAIs on the URV campuses

he exhibition is a tribute from the College of Journalists of Catalonia to the journalists who died in the Israel-Hamas war

The CRAI campus Vila-seca of the Rovira i Virgili University has been hosting the exhibition “Veus silenciades” since April 2, a project that began in December 2023 at the Barcelona headquarters of the College of Journalists of Catalonia, which aims to pay tribute, vindicate and remember the 173 information professionals who have been murdered in Gaza, Lebanon and Israel since the conflict between Palestine and Israel broke out.

In the autumn of 2024, given the persistence of the conflict and the increase in victims, the Journalism for Peace Working Group decided to expand this tribute and bring it to the journalism faculties of Catalonia to raise awareness about the risks of the profession in war zones and the fundamental role of journalism as a guarantor of the right to information.

The exhibition will travel to the different CRAIs on the URV campuses: until April 30, it can be visited at the CRAI in Vila-seca; from May 6 to 23, at the CRAI on the Sescelades campus; from June 2 to 15, at the CRAI on the Bellisens campus; from September 8 to 22, at the CRAI in Medicine; from September 29 to October 13, at the CRAI Terres de l’Ebre; from October 27 to November 10, at the CRAI Baix Penedès, and from November 20 to December 4, at the CRAI Vilafranca. Finally, it will be installed from January 12 to 25, 2026 at the CRAI Catalonia campus, since this center teaches degrees in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication.
