The number of students enrolled at the URV is the highest in the University’s history

The number of undergraduates is 2.6% higher than last year and the number of master's students has exceeded 2,000 for the second year running

More students than ever before are filling the campuses of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili this academic year 2023-24. There are 12,664 undergraduates (2.6% more than a year ago) and 2,171 master’s degree students (1.8% more) at the URV in an academic year which has exceeded the enrolment figures of all previous years since the University was founded.

This year, 3,437 students have started their bachelor’s degrees, which is 2% more than in the academic year 2022-23, with an average age of 20.5 years. Eight out of ten of them gained access to the University through the university entrance examination (65%) or higher training cycles (15%).

More than half of the URV’s undergraduates (63%) are from the Tarragona area, while 17% are from the rest of Catalonia, almost 12% from the rest of Spain and 8 % are international.

The new students take over from the 1,986 who graduated in the academic year 2022-23.

In terms of master’s degrees, there are 2,171 students at the URV, 1.8% more than last year, when the URV had more than 2,000 master’s students for the first time. Three out of ten are international students from America (43%), Europe (25%), Asia (20%) and Africa (11%).

Students are constantly enrolling in university education, so the data is from 17 October 2023 so that it is comparable with previous years.
