The URV and the international partners fostered knowledge sharing
During the months of June and July the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) has hosted five international delegations. These visits showcase the URV’s dedication to promoting global academic collaboration and exchange. The delegations engaged in fruitful discussions, collaborative projects, and cultural interactions with the URV’s international stakeholders. With a focus on strengthening international partnerships and fostering knowledge-sharing, the URV reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence on the world stage.
From 13 to 15 June, the URV’s local Aurora Office received two members of the Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC), a new strategic partner of the Aurora alliance. The visitors were greeted by the rector of the URV during his welcome session and were able to explore the various campuses, fostering a deeper understanding of the institution and strengthening the ties between both universities.
On 30 June there was a work meeting in Vila-seca with Rodolfo Baggio from Bocconi University, Italy, along with the Commissioner for International Networks, Joan Miquel Canals, and Salvador Anton, from the URV’s Faculty of Tourism and Geography.
On 10 July the University of Pamplona, Colombia, sent a delegation to Tarragona led by their rector, Ivaldo Torrez Chávez, and Laura Patricia Villamizar Carrillo, Academic vice-rector, with the aim of strengthening academic collaborations. They reviewed the interinstitutional agreement and explored areas of mutual interest, such as the doctoral programme.
On 14 July the Technological University of Manabí, Ecuador, paid a visit to the affiliated centre of the URV, ESIC, with the presence of the rector Santiago Quiroz Fernández and the director of International Relations, Agreements, and Scholarships, Emilio Cedeño Palma. During the visit, an interinstitutional agreement was formalized.
On 19 July Daniel de la Fuente, from the educational services company Glidehigh S.L., visited the university to establish cooperation between the URV and Asian students.
On 21 July, the Universitat Rovira i Virgili hosted the delegation of The Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP), Regional NSF International Center of Excellence (NICE) programme, led by Denise Yates as part of their visit to Spain in order to establish an agreement with the URV. Montserrat Gómez, professor from Université Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier, Montserrat Dieguez, professor of Chemistry at the URV and Joan Miquel Canals joined the visit.
