The URV is ranked among the best in the world in up to eleven fields of knowledge according to Times Higher Education 2024

Times Higher Education (THE) has published the rankings of the best universities in the world in eleven fields of knowledge, the World University Rankings by subject 2024, which evaluates the 1,904 best universities in the world. For the first time, the Universitat Rovira i Virgili is present in the eleven areas evaluated: Arts and Humanities, Computer Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Clinical and Health Sciences, Law, Economics and Business, Education, Engineering and Psychology.
The URV’s field of Law is placed in this ranking for the first time and does so in position 251-300, alongside the field of Arts and Humanities. These are the two fields with the best absolute position of the University in this list based on 18 indicators that measure the performance of universities in five areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, internationalization and industry.

In comparison with the other universities in Spain, the best positioned field of knowledge is Life Sciences, where the URV is in 3rd position together with four other universities. The URV is also well positioned in Physical Sciences (in 5th position, shared with three other universities) and Arts and Humanities (in 9th position).
