The URV reinforces its collaborations with Moroccan universities

The URV’s Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Dr Mar Gutiérrez-Colón, and the Head of the International Center, Ms Marina Casals, paid an official visit to Morocco from 30 May to 4 June

During the first part of the week, they visited Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI), the International University of Rabat (UIR) and the École de Gouvernance et Économie de Rabat (EGE-Rabat). The objective of these visits was to explore possible avenues of collaboration. Among the possibilities discussed were exchange agreements, co-supervision of doctoral theses and joint research. Many common points of interest were identified and a follow-up strategy was agreed upon.

On 2 and 3 June, the Vice-Rector participated in a seminar organized by the University Mohamed I in Oujda and the IPHES (Catalan Institute of Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution) to commemorate 10 years of joint research. The seminar included visits to excavation sites and was very well attended by senior figures from Berber associations and the region as a whole.

Overall, it was a very positive visit with specific outcomes that will contribute greatly to the internationalisation objectives of URV.
