The university successfully concluded its participation in the "Diverse Internationalisation of Teacher Education" project
In October, the URV successfully completed its participation in the DITE (Diverse Internationalisation of Teacher Education) project, which focuses on the internationalisation of teacher education and is co-financed by the European Union. The university contributed through its International Centre and the collaboration of Luis Marqués and Ramon Palau, both professors at the URV’s Faculty of Education and Psychology.
On October 17, as part of the project’s closing activities, the International Centre organised the seminar “Internationalisation and Diversity in Teacher Education.” The event took place at the Sescelades Campus and had the support and participation of the Tarragona Territorial Education and Vocational Training Services, the Foreign and Native Languages Service and the Secretariat for Educational Improvement of the Department of Education and Vocational Training of the Catalan Government.
Carme Garcia, the URV’s Commissioner for Relations with the Department of Education, and Joan Manel Audí, Director of the Tarragona Territorial Education and Vocational Training Services, opened the event, which brought together various URV professors involved in the project, such as Ana Espada, Dolors Puigjaner, and Carles Barberà. Montserrat Montagut from the Foreign and Native Languages Service presented the strategic internationalisation lines of the Department of Education and Vocational Training.
Round Table on Internationalisation Experiences
The seminar included a round table moderated by Luis Marqués, during which internationalisation experiences in schools and institutes were presented. Speakers included teachers from various schools and institutes: Andreu Dexeus Domingo (INS Narcís Oller in Valls), Enric Masdeu Claraco (Institut Escola Joan Ardèvol in Cambrils), Eduard Planes Anguera (ESC Santa Marina in Pratdip), Laura Chamorro Casas (ESC Sant Bernat Calvó in Vila-seca), and Meritxell Tomàs Ciuró (ESC Prat de la Riba in Reus).

The seminar was closed by Joan Miquel Canals, the URV’s Commissioner for International Networks. The teachers finished the day with new ideas and a strong commitment to working together across universities, the Department of Education, schools, and institutes to promote true diversity in international teacher education and to ensures these dynamics extend to the classroom.
Additionally, on 23 October, the URV participated in the final DITE project conference, held in hybrid format at CY Cergy Paris Université, France. The conference was co-organised as part of the annual meeting of the project partners, SGroup-Universities in Europe, a network of which the URV is a member,.
The DITE team presented a summary of the project’s activities and results to a diverse audience of university representatives, along with a small poster exhibition and a brief presentation of DITE training. The URV delegation included former professor Ana Espada, who actively participated in the project by providing training to URV students. Additionally, Rebeca Tomás, Director of the URV International Centre, shared the university’s experience within the project during a round table that enriched the day with insights and contributions from various speakers.
The URV continues to promote the internationalisation of teacher education and to embrace diverse and collaborative educational practices.
