The URV and the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Higher Education address the international strategy of the University

SEPIE's director, Alfonso Gentil, visits the Universitat Rovira i Virgili to discuss questions about the internationalisation of the University with the heads of the units

The director of the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Higher Education (SEPIE), Alfonso Gentil, visited the Universitat Rovira i Virgili on Thursday, 12 January, to discuss the URV’s international strategy and other aspects of the approach to internationalisation. Gentil is visiting universities outside the regional capitals to learn about the reality of each region and university. The URV is one of the first in Catalonia to be visited.

At the meeting, the URV’s heads of units discussed the Erasmus+ projects centralised at the SEPIE in which the university participates. These include KA131 and KA171 mobility, cooperation partnerships and the European Alliance. The URV also discussed the challenges to internationalisation, such as the management of mobility programmes and European projects, and the improvements that SEPIE can make so that the whole process is easier.  

The rector of the URV, Josep Pallarès, welcomed Alfonso Gentil with whom he held a meeting together with the commissioner of International Networks, Joan Miquel Canals, and the director of the I-Center, Marina Casals.

The URV services and units that participated in this visit were represented by Marina Casals, director of the International Center; Ignasi Salvadó, director of the research and innovation area; Daniel Ferrer, funding expert at the Unit for Support to International RDI Proposals (USPIR); Gisela Molas, coordinator of the Decentralised Administrative Management Unit (UGAD); Núria Golobardes, mobility coordinator of the International Center in charge of the Erasmus+ KA131 programme; Jordi Serra, project manager of the URV Aurora Alliance, K2 European Alliances, and Margarita Wessels, international projects technician Erasmus+ KA2.
