The event is part of the Welcome Days, the URV's welcome to international students arriving for the second semester

Cultural Day took place last Thursday, the second day of the Welcome Days organised by the URV to welcome mobility students who are arriving for the second semester. Cultural Day focuses on giving newcomers a cultural welcome and was held on Campus Catalunya with a turnout of more than forty students.  

The reception, which was conducted in English, began with the “Language quiz”, a half-hour workshop which gave sociolinguistic information about the Catalan language, so that students became aware of the importance of Catalan as a modern language and the extent to which it is used at the University.  

Afterwards, the students got to know each other in a “cultural speed dating” activity, and they ended the day by taking part in some traditional dances. The events were organised by the URV’s Language and Publications Service and the International Center.
