Choosing the city, choosing the URV

My experience in Tarragona was amazing in many terms! You might find this explanation a little bit long but if you have any questions or doubts about why choose Tarragona, why choose the URV and why choose an internship at the URV’s International Center (I-Center), you might find the answers to many of your questions! Choosing the city, choosing the URV and doing an internship at URV I-Center were one of the best things I could have done for myself. The people I met, the things I did, the life I had and everything else. I will always look back on positively on the time I was there and how it was. It taught me a lot. Everyone there is lovely and so welcoming, their hospitality was one of the things I loved the most.

I spent 8 months in Tarragona, Spain, as an Erasmus intern at the URV I-Center. I never travelled back to my country during this time. It was hard not seeing my family and friends for a long time but everybody, especially in the I-Center, was always there for me! They didn’t let me spend special days and holidays by myself, they showed me their culture and gave me the opportunity of experiencing everything with them!

In terms of the work, I learned and saw many aspects of working in an international environment as an international officer, particularly because I’m originally an English teacher, so I spent a lot of time with exchange students while I was studying in the university. I am thinking about changing my career path because I liked the environment and pace of this job a lot.

After the interviews we had, the I-Center knew about how they could employ me and patiently showed me and taught me what I need to know to do the job and answered all of my questions. During this time, the URV offered psychological help to every student and everybody in the office and my local friends were so helpful with every single situation that arose. To prevent any bad experiences or problems, they immediately translated and informed all the students about the documents published by the government and the news regarding the changes to the rules and regulations etc. They were so kind, helpful, supportive, and understanding.

I am super thankful for the people and the exciting experiences that I got out of the whole experience. It was and still is a precious experience in life for me. I wish I could turn back time and spend my days with everyone there again, of course, before the confinement period. However, I cannot, so it has to be “till we meet again” for the moment.
