The aim of the visit was to learn about the implantation of structures and university organisation
The visit on 14 September by the Vice-Rector for Connection with the Environment at the Autonomous University of Chile (UACH), Hernán Viguera, enabled staff from the Chilean institution to learn first-hand about best practice in the ambit of research and the third mission at the URV, including internationalisation, HR Research Excellence, research structure, the Research Management System and joint doctoral programmes.
The representative of the Chilean university met with Josep Manel Ricart, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Research Policy, Mar Gutiérrez-Colón, Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Jordi Tous, Vice-Rector for the University and Society, Joan Fuster, coordinator of the URV Solidària Centre for Development Cooperation, and Avril Lombardi, specialist from the Service-Learning Programme, to learn about the structure and organisation of these areas.
The hope is for these meetings to lead to future collaboration in shared areas of interest between the URV and the UACH in the seven priority areas that the Chilean government wishes to promote in higher education. The two institutions already have a close relationship through agreements signed since 2012.
