The 20th edition of the Fundación CyD Report ranks the Universitat Rovira i Virgili second in terms of the technological impact of its research and third in Spain for its collaborations with businesses. These rankings are based on an analysis of 76 public and private universities.

In terms of technological impact, which measures the proportion of scientific papers cited in patents, the URV ranks second, behind only the Universidad de Mondragón.

As for business collaboration, the report notes that 20.88% of the URV’s scientific publications are co-authored with companies. This percentage is only surpassed by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (36.42%) and the Universitat de Vic (21.78%).

The URV stands out particularly in knowledge transfer indicators. The report analysed factors such as the number of publications in collaboration with businesses, private funding obtained, patent income, and the presence of scientific work cited in patents.

This edition of the report studied 76 universities, both public and private, using data across 37 indicators grouped into five dimensions: teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation, and regional development contribution. The results were calculated using data provided by SCImago Lab, using Scopus data.
