The URV attended the Liaison Officers’ Meeting and the General Assembly of the SGroup European Universities’ Network from 1 to 3 December. A total of 63 representatives from 33 institutions both within and outside the EU visited the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim to discuss internationalisation in HE, human resource strategies for researchers and the network’s strategy for the coming years. Three representatives of the URV joined the meeting, namely Francesc Xavier Grau and Mar Reguero, who contributed to the programme as speakers, and Rebeca Tomás from the URV’s International Center, who attended as Liaison Officer.

The central theme of the annual LO meeting was “Succeeding in strategic global engagement – IROs management a key factor”. The event took the form of an interactive workshop through which all universities had the chance to share and learn good practices for effective planning of the resources, building strategic partnerships, and applying project approaches to IRO operations. Members were also welcome to present bottom-up ideas for future collaboration-related projects and activities between the SGroup’s universities and their partner institutions.

The General Assembly was entitled “Attractive, competitive, smart – EU HEIs’ human resources strategies for researchers” and focused on diverse approaches towards creating a supportive environment for researchers and tools for assessing institutional research capacity. The new president and the members of the SGroup’s Executive Committee were also elected during the General Assembly.
