Ramon Puras meets with various centres and faculties to foster joint programmes and curriculum internationalisation initiatives
On 27th and 28th November, the Rovira i Virgili University received the visit of Ramon Puras, general secretary of the Aurora alliance, with the aim of strengthening collaboration and promoting the university’s internationalisation strategy. Puras began the visit to the International Center, where he discussed key actions for the internationalisation of the curriculum, within the framework of the Mobility and Exchange work group. During the morning, he also met with representatives of various faculties and schools on the Sescelades campus: Àngel Cid, director of the School of Engineering (ETSE); Ioannis Katakis, director of the School of Chemical Engineering (ETSEQ); Xavier López, vice-dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, and Manuel Su’rez, dean of the Faculty of Oenology.
In the afternoon, at the Bellissens campus in Reus, Puras held meetings with representatives of the Faculty of Economics and Business (dean Victoria S’nchez, vice-dean Ana Hernández and head of internationalisation Albert Fonts), the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (Victoria Linares, representing the Pere Virgili Health Research Institute) and the Faculty of Tourism and Geography (Benito Zaragozí, coordinator of the Interuniversity Master’s Degree in Planning, Governance and Territorial Leadership). During these discussions, the parties explored potential joint initiatives such as curriculum internationalisation through COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) projects, BIP (Blended Intensive Programs), and summer courses with Aurora partners.
On November 28th, Puras visited the Catalunya campus, where he met with representatives from the Faculty of Legal Sciences, including dean Àngels Galiana and vice-dean Diana Marín; vice-dean of the Faculty of Arts, Marta Serrano; and the commissioner for Equality and Diversity, Víctor Merino.
9The visit concluded at the Rectorate, where Ramon Puras held a meeting with URV rector Josep Pallarès, the vice-rector for Scientific Policy and Interdisciplinary Projects, Urbano Lorenzo, and the vice-rector for Research, Marina Galià. He also met the USPIR (International Research and Innovation Proposals Support Unit), highlighted as an example of good practice in support and management of research and innovation projects.
