The URV’s management team sends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the management team of Moi University in Eldoret (Kenya), to which Garissa University College belongs

The statement, signed by the rector of the URV Josep Anton Ferré, continues: “The URV condemns the attack on the international university community in Kenya in which 147 students from Garissa University College were murdered. By definition, universities reject all forms of discrimination for reasons of nationality, religion, sex or race. Therefore, we regard this attack on the university community as an attack on the efforts being made to build a society based on knowledge, rationality and humanism. It affects all those of us who defend human rights above anything else”.
