From 4 to 12 May, several visits took place at the URV as part of international mobility programmes. The visiting academic and service staff were from various institutions: the Lebanese International University (LIU) (Lebanon), Université Sultan Moulay Slimane (USMS) (Morocco), Stellenbosch University (South Africa) and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) (Nigeria).

This enriching experience was made possible by the Erasmus+ KA107 and INU’s Staff Knowledge Exchange programmes. The visitors from Lebanon, Nigeria and Morocco were on the Erasmus+ KA107 programme, the objective of which is to improve the relationship between European higher education institutions and the other countries involved. On the other hand, the visiting lecturer from South Africa was on the INU’s Staff Knowledge Exchange programme. This programme aims to share local experience with members of other international partner institutions of the INU Network so that universities can learn from one other.

During their visit, the university staff took part in a variety of activities at the URV organized by the International Center together with the faculties and schools that hosted the visitors: the Faculty of Economics and Business and the School of Architecture. The activities included an initial meeting at the International Center, visits to the CRAI, meetings with research groups of interest to each of the members so that they can get to know European projects such as SUCTI and COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning).

In addition to the academic activities, the visitors had the chance to get to know the cultural heritage of the region. They visited Tarragona, Reus and Barcelona, to enjoy the cultural riches of these cities.

This programme has been a chance to deepen the links between the URV and the visiting institutions and to explore possible ways of collaboration, contributing to mutual enrichment and the promotion of internationalisation.
