On March 5, 2023, Open Data Day is celebrated, a worldwide initiative to spread knowledge of open data. In fact, open data is increasingly recognized as a result of primary research. In recent years, the need for data to be available in open access repositories, to be consulted, to be cited, and to have an associated data plan, has been highlighted.
Rovira i Virgili University, committed to open science, approved in 2021 the Institutional Open Access Policy for URV research data, whereby data derived from international and national research projects financed with public funds must be deposited and disseminate through the means that the University makes available to researchers: the institutional repository and the consortium research data repository CORA.RDR. In addition, the Learning and Research Resource Center (CRAI) provides support to researchers both in data curation and in the repository of research data.
Through Open Data Day, which has been celebrated for 10 years, events are held to disseminate open data knowledge throughout the world. The CRAI, together with the Institute of Educational Sciences (ICE) of the URV, joins in with a series of training activities on the reuse and storage of open access data, the data management plan and the software available for its preparation.
The webinar “Research dates: FAIR principles, open access deposit and data management plan”, on March 6, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration through ICE for PDI and for doctoral students.
The self-study course “Investigation data and data management plan”, open from January 15 to May 15. Registration through ICE for PDI and for doctoral students; and through the PAS Training Plan, registration for Administration and Services Personnel.
