New trends in the digital sphere have changed how information is consumed, especially among the new generations, who now use social networks to seek not only entertainment, but also information. For this reason, the URV has opened a profile on the TikTok platform, one of the fastest-growing social networks in recent years that is having considerable impact, especially among the youngest members of the public.

In fact, this is one of the objectives of this new communicative space: to reach out to young people who are already members of the university community or future students.

The new TikTok profile of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili will broadcast information about the University, its daily life, the courses it offers, and all those activities of special interest, but always with a touch of humour and with an informal and casual approach.

The fact that students help to create content is one of the singularities of the new profile. Núria Leyva and Sandra Palou, students of Audiovisual Communication, are the first to help out with ideas for publications and with production and recording.

The two students were involved in the first publication of the profile, which, among other things, will soon be broadcasting content on Science Week and the macro-festival of university human tower-building teams organised by the Pataquers, the URV team.

TikTok has now been added to the profiles of other social networks that are already consolidated as communication channels of the URV. Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram, Youtube and now TikTok are the social networks through which the URV tells the world about what it is doing and also keeps in direct touch with its public.
