China’s Yunnan Normal University and the URV explore new avenues of collaboration

Another delegation from this university came to Tarragona to meet URV academics and students from their own university who are studying at the URV and to visit the URV’s Centre for Hispanic Studies

The URV’s Centre for Hispanic Studies received another visit by a delegation from Yunnan Normal University on 12 September. Yunnan’s vice-rector Ma Li headed the delegation, whose other members were Li Ming, director of the Solar Energy Research Institute; Ji Xu, vice-dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Energy; Lin Wei Dong, dean of the Faculty of Mathematics; Li Tian Feng, dean of the School of Educational Science and Management; and Yang Yan, vice-dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature.

The delegation was received at the URV’s Catalunya Campus by the vice-rector for Internationalisation, Mar Gutiérrez-Colón; the director of the Centre for Hispanic Studies, Esther Forgas; the executive secretary of the centre and head of the Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Language and Literature, Antoni Nomdedeu; and the head of the Department of Private, Procedural and Financial Law, Àngel Urquizu. During the meeting they explored ways of strengthening their existing ties and of fostering new forms of collaboration between both universities.

Yunnan Normal University is one of the nine Chinese universities that have established academic links with the URV. It sends students to the URV so that they can continue their studies of Spanish, Hispanic culture and business.
