The URV organises a training week on international strategic planning

As part of the Erasmus+ programme, the second edition of the International Staff Training Week brought together staff from various institutions in a dozen countries from 20 to 23 June at the URV’s Catalunya Campus. It was organised by the URV’s International Center, which has ample experience of strategic internationalisation plans

Each year the URV organises an event aimed at staff from higher education institutions as part of the Erasmus+ programme. The theme chosen for the current edition draws directly on the International Center’s knowledge and experience of creating the URV’s Strategic Plan (PEI 2014-19). The speakers at the event were mostly from the strategy team of the International Center, headed by Marina Casals. There was also a guest speaker, Alicia Berlanga, coordinator of the UNESCO Chair of Higher Education Management of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and director of the European Observatory project on Good Practices in Strategic University Management.

The 19 participants were heads of international offices, mobility coordinators, heads of faculties, master’s programme coordinators and experts from the United Kingdom, Portugal, Sweden, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Italy, France, Ireland, Lithuania, Latvia, Mexico and Spain. All the participants are involved in developing or implementing an internationalisation strategy and had the chance to meet colleagues from other universities to share knowledge and tools for strategic planning in internationalisation.
