The Vice-Rectors of Catalan universities meet the Fundació Institut Confuci de Barcelona

On 19 November 2015, the Fundació Institut Confuci de Barcelona (FICB) met with eight public Catalan universities. The main goal of the meeting was to agree on further cooperation in the development of cultural activities and educational projects

The meeting was attended by the directors of the FICB, Dr Helena Casas-Tost and Dr Chang Shiru. It emphasised the cultural activities, educational projects and official Chinese exams organised by the FICB, which was seeking to attract new collaborators. The Catalan universities emphasised the strong existing cooperation between them the higher education institutions in China, and highlighted the support that the FICB has given in this cooperation.

A representative from the I-Center also attended at the request of the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation of the URV and gave a presentation on the URV’s graduate and postgraduate courses, the cultural activities that it has to offer to Chinese students and the mobility agreements and scholarships that the URV have set up with institutions in China. The URV also showed its interest in hosting the official Chinese exams HSK and YCT on its campus.

The URV has invited the directors of the FICB to visit it in the near future with the aim of obtaining a commitment to expand partnerships and development links.
