The 12th Annual APAIE Conference took place between 20 and 23 March, at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center in Taiwan. The APAIE is a non-profit international organisation that aims to activate and strengthen the internationalisation of higher education in the Asia-Pacific region. The meeting was the perfect opportunity to create, renew and build relations with professionals in international education. The organisation gave participating universities, such as the URV, advance information so they could organise their lists of contacts for the conference. There was a large-scale exhibition with more than 200 stands, and 5 local universities led by the National University Sun Yat-sen acted as hosts to all the participating institutions.
During the conference, which was attended by Mar Gutiérrez-Colón, Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Charo Romano, director of the Lifelong Learning Centre of the FURV, the URV’s representatives established contacts with universities from Thailand, Korea, India and Japan, among others, with a view to collaborating with them in the very near future.
