The Catalan and the Austrian universities are encouraging students to take part in online language tandems to improve their command of Spanish, English and German. Last academic year, 15 URV students took part in the project
This year the URV has been an active participant in the annual conference of the European Association for International Education, which was held in Liverpool from 13 to 16 September

The professors Antoni Nomdedeu and Àngel Urquizu have established relations with many Asian institutions and have a comprehensive knowledge of different cultures from the continent. For the fourth consecutive year engineering students from the University of Cairo have attended a Study Abroad programme at the URV which finished on 29 July. The students are assigned to three different courses at the School of Engineering and the School of Chemical Engineering

Increased funding for the Erasmus+ programme
The CRUE-Internationalisation and cooperation seminar (5 and 6 May) and the SEPIE seminar on Higher Education Mobility (14 to 16 June) have provided all the necessary information on changes to the call for proposals for this year’s Erasmus+ programme
From 23 May to 10 June fourteen students from James Madison University participated in the programme entitled Health Care in Spain: a Cross-cultural Exploration of Illness and Wellness at the URV’s Faculty of Nursing. The students were taught about the Spanish health system, learnt Spanish and acquired cultural knowledge
An agreement signed between both universities will enable Japanese students to study at the URV and URV students to travel to Hiroshima. During his first visit to the URV, the rector of HU, Mitsuo Ochi, signed an agreement to increase the existing collaboration between the two universities.
