The 9th Seminar of the EUA-CDE on Doctoral supervision, practices and responsibilities, held in the Netherlands saw the URV’s Postgraduate and Doctoral School playing a leading role in the session entitled Engaging and training supervisors, which discussed the process of professionalising doctoral supervision

On 1 February Sergio Nasarre participated in the Conference on Covered Bonds in Brussels. He was invited by the Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union of the European Commission to give a presentation, during which he reported on the advantages of harmonising covered bonds across Europe

On Wednesday January 27th, the URV was visited by a delegation from the Université Mohamed Premier in Oujda, Morocco. The delegation was led by the head of the Department of Geology and two fellow researchers and took part in intensive working meetings with the IPHES (Catalan Institute of Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution)

The new association is formed by URV students and alumni and promotes knowledge of Chinese culture and language. It is supported by the Lifelong Learning Centre of the URV Foundation and the Centre for Hispanic Studies and one of the first activities to take place will be an introductory course in Chinese

At the meeting of the University Senate on 26 November the committees entrusted with drafting a new scientific policy plan to substitute the one that has been in force since 2001 were constituted. The proposal for restructuring the courses provided by the faculties and school, and the reports by the Ombuds Officer and on the Quality and Equality plans were also submitted

From 23 to 26 November, Professor Stephen Dyson, assistant director of the Institute for European and Mediterranean Archaeology (IEMA), visited the URV in the framework of the relations established between the URV and the University of Buffalo (New York, United States). Over the course of four days, he visited archaeological sites, held working meetings and delivered a paper at the ICAC entitled “Where Caesar Never Trod: Classical Archaeology and Ideology in 19th and 20th Century America”.
