The director of the UNESCO Chair for Dialogue in the Mediterranean, Enric Olivé, has attended the fifth edition of the Baku Humanitarian Forum and given a round table talk on different models of multiculturalism. Like the other participants, Dr Olivé was invited to attend by the Azeri education minister and spoke about “New spirituality and intercultural dialogue: from the disappearance of the USSR to the war in Syria”

As part of the Staff Shadowing programme of the International Network of Universities (INU), last October we were visited by Alejandro Gariglio, the Design and Image Coordinator of the Directorate of Institutional Communication of the National University of the Litoral (Argentina) and lecturer on the degree in Design of Visual Communication

“Times Higher Education” (THE) has published its ranking of the best universities in the world. As in the previous ranking, the URV has been placed between the positions 401 and 500 out of the 980 universities that are included in the ranking. It is the same position that the URV achieved in the Shanghai ranking, in which it has been included for the first time this year

The professors Antoni Nomdedeu and Àngel Urquizu have established relations with many Asian institutions and have a comprehensive knowledge of different cultures from the continent. They have been appointed by the rector as the URV’s Asian Envoys to assist in the work carried out by the Office of the vice-Rector for Internationalisation

Interview to David Dueñas, winner of the URV’s teaching quality prize and researcher at the SBRlab, who went on a mobility visit to to Grigol Robakidze University in Georgia from March to April, within the framework of the Erasmus Mundus EMINENCE II Mobility for Academic Staff Programme

The European Commission has awarded four million euros to the Universitat Rovira i Virgili’s Martí Franquès COFUND project, which will allow it to contract 50 predoctoral researchers. The recruitment process will take place in 2017 and 2018 and the successful candidates will have be awarded three-year contracts. The University will contribute a further four million euros to the project which will conclude in 2021
