Spain continues to be the top destination chosen by the young university students to carry out a mobility through this European programme. This was exposed on 19 and 20 December in Madrid at the Annual Seminar for the promotion of Erasmus+
The Chinese New Year began on 27 January and every year the URV joins in the festivities thanks to the large number of Chinese students who study here. This year the activities on the Catalunya Campus are extended into the afternoon and are also spread to other parts of the city from 26 January to 3 February

The International Center of the URV will coordinate a three-year European project to promote internationalisation among the administrative staff of the participating institutions. An information session ons 24 October for students interested in mobility visits was transmitted to all URV campuses. Students can take advantage of the URV’s more than 700 international mobility agreements

The director of the UNESCO Chair for Dialogue in the Mediterranean, Enric Olivé, has attended the fifth edition of the Baku Humanitarian Forum and given a round table talk on different models of multiculturalism. Like the other participants, Dr Olivé was invited to attend by the Azeri education minister and spoke about “New spirituality and intercultural dialogue: from the disappearance of the USSR to the war in Syria”
The University and the CUCBA of the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) will work together to train Mexican doctoral students. During the autumn the rector of the CUCBA, Carlos Beas, visited the URV and the TecnATox research centre to work on the project for 2017
This autumn has provided plenty of opportunities for the Centre for Hispanic Studies to make contact with some Chinese institutions and to develop existing projects. In October, the URV agents for Asia, Antoni Nomdedeu and Ángel Urquizu, visited four Chinese universities
As part of the Staff Shadowing programme of the International Network of Universities (INU), last October we were visited by Alejandro Gariglio, the Design and Image Coordinator of the Directorate of Institutional Communication of the National University of the Litoral (Argentina) and lecturer on the degree in Design of Visual Communication
A delegation from the Guilin Tourism University had visited the URV to discuss possible joint projects between the two universities

Research at the URV and our related research centres is mainly funded externally and our researchers compete for national and international funding that in 2015 alone was worth €29 million. Knowledge, close cooperation and quality relations with local, national and international organizations are the keys to improving the performance of URV research teams and to providing the necessary support for inter-institutional projects
